About Rutherglen in the City - Melbourne 2023
Can’t make it to Rutherglen for your vino fix? Not to worry, the winemakers are coming to you this spring!
A pop-up cellar door experience will set up shop in Melbourne this October for a one day only wine event, Rutherglen in the City.
On Saturday 14th October, punters can try Rutherglen’s best drops when they hit the big smoke at The Timber Yard in Port Melbourne.
Ticket costs $35.
On arrival, you’ll be given a Winemakers of Rutherglen stemless tasting tumbler to keep, which gives you access to wine tastings from our wineries, an opportunity to book into one of our masterclasses, for a small additional fee of $10 with limited spaces available, so you will need to book ASAP.
Enjoy live music, a range of food options for purchase, and discover boutique and rare wines you can't access anywhere else.
Wine available for purchase by the glass, the bottle or to take home.

Meet the Iberians with Stanton & Killeen Wines - 11:40am
The joy of making wine in Rutherglen comes from having a guiding influence from our rich history and the freedom to explore new and exciting opportunities.
At S&K, we're having fun with our 14 varieties - half of them are Portuguese and include Alvarinho, Arinto, Souzão, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional.
Join us to explore rare and unusual Portuguese cultivars through a guided tasting experience. Sample a curated selection of current and back vintage wines while learning the rich history behind S&K's love and appreciation for Iberian varietals and why we believe they are perfectly suited to the Rutherglen climate.
Coco Vino Delight with Cofield Wines - 1:00pm
Enjoy a generous tasting of three of our favourite Cofield Wines that have each been perfectly matched with a Cuvee Chocolate. Cuvee chocolate makes stoneground, small batch, handcrafted chocolate's which pairs beautifully with wine, and makes this experience such a delight!
Rutherglen in the Cellar with Jones Winery & Vineyard - 2:30pm
Taste and learn about the aging process of white and red wines with 6th generation winemaker Benjamin Jones. Wines selected will include current release and back vintage wines from Sustainable Winegrowing Australia (SWA) certified Jones Winery & Vineyard.
The tasting will include an aged and current Fiano, Marsanne/Roussanne and Shiraz, all of which were grown in Jones Winery’s unirrigated Rutherglen Vineyards.
The Dark Arts Durif Masterclass with Warrabilla Wines - 4:00pm
Join Durif devotee Andrew Sutherland Smith as he unravels the history and the mystery of Rutherglen's most renowned red grape.
Sample multiple vintages of Warrabilla Durif, including the famed Parola's label, and experience first-hand the passion that 'Smithy' has for the variety. Compare and contrast Warrabilla’s finest with examples of Durif from elsewhere around the country and discover why it is so at home in Rutherglen's continental climate.
