About Tung Acupuncture for Pregnancy presented by Naomi Jankowski
INTRODUCTION:
Tung acupuncture is a concise system of treatment known for its minimal needling and powerful results. This one-day seminar is an introduction to Tung theory with a special focus on pregnancy. In particular we will look at how to work with threatened miscarriage, nausea and hyperemesis, gestational diabetes, nocturia, reflux, fluid retention, and pelvic pain. This class is appropriate both for the new graduate, as well as those who already have familiarity with the Tung system.
SYNOPSIS:
In this seminar, we will be learning some key concepts of Tung's acupuncture, making them immediately clinically relevant and applicable for pregnancy cases. The class is designed to be very practical, and also quite logical and simple. Leaving you with a thorough understanding to work with pregnancy patients more confidently. Tung acupuncture provides powerful points for great clinical success. Naomi will present the key points she works with in pregnancy, to provide a simplified Tung system that is effective in working with a wide variety of conditions.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- A summarized background of Master Tung and his lineage, as well as an introduction to the basic concepts of Tung’s acupuncture.
- A Tung acupuncture approach to working with early pregnancy patients to help strengthen and secure the pregnancy and prevent miscarriage
- Managing early pregnancy symptoms and eliminating those that may be risk factors - these include effective treatment of abdominal cramping, lower back pain, breast tenderness, and spotting.
- How to work with nausea and hyperemesis, even in challenging cases
- A simple and effective approach to pelvic pain in pregnancy
- Treatment of nocturia, fluid retention and reflux
- Prevention and / or management of gestational diabetes
- Labor preparation and post-partum suggestions
- Clear point demonstration will be shown. If time permits, there may be an opportunity for attendees to practice some needling.

The day is presented as a sequential guide to all the stages of pregnancy, with key points to consider at each stage.
BIO:
Naomi Jankowski is an AHPRA registered Chinese Medicine practitioner who has worked with women's health conditions for the last 15 years. After graduating from SSNT in 2009, she studied with Steven Clavey, and later also practiced at his clinic. Naomi now lives and works in Jan Juc and practices at Surf Coast Women's Health Group in a collaborative medical environment. Naomi prides herself on making logical decisions about acupuncture point selections that provide immediate and effective treatment.
