Join us for the annual Silver Shovels Gala evening to celebrate our achievements over the last 12 months.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Green and Glam’ in recognition of achieving Gold in the NSW Sustainability Advantage Awards at TZ and TWPZ and our continuous commitment to sustainability. So let’s get creative and remember there is nothing more glam than being green!

The evening will commence at 5:30pm with pre-dinner drinks and canapés. The Awards ceremony will be followed by a 3-course dinner and dancing, concluding at approximately 11pm.  If you wish the celebrations will continue at Minsky’s Hotel, Neutral Bay and a bus service will be available to transfer you to the venue.

Tickets are on sale until Thursday 28^th September unless sold out prior. Please note tickets are available for Taronga employees only with a limit of 240 tickets available so get in quick! If tickets are not sold out to Taronga employees, they will be available for purchase for employees’ partners.

Important Notes

This year’s Silver Shovels will be held in the Taronga Centre from 5.30pm and concluding around 11pm. 

As always, please remember that Silver Shovels is still a work function which requires an appropriate standard of conduct.  With this in mind, it is a good time to remind everyone of a few things:

Behaviour at the Silver Shovels                                    

As Silver Shovels 2017 is a work function, Taronga’s policies (Code of Conduct, Alcohol and Other Drugs and Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Free Workplace policies) apply fully at this event. Please note it’s your responsibility to read and ensure you understand these policies.

Please familiarise yourself with these policies and be mindful of your obligations with respect to each of them.

Transport

We want everyone to enjoy themselves; we also want everyone to arrive home safely, so if you are thinking about having a drink or two we ask that you plan your transport home. 

For those who are continuing on to the external after party, there will be a private bus service departing from Taronga Zoo for those with an after party ticket.

I understand I am responsible for ensuring my behaviour at this event does not contravene the standards set out in the Taronga Code of Conduct.

I acknowledge that I am required to abide by Taronga’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy and that any breach of policy or unacceptable behaviour may result in exclusion from this event and further investigation as per Taronga's Disciplinary Procedures.
