About Explore the Aboriginal Culture from a Darug perspective

Local Aboriginal artist and educator Chris Tobin will share some important aspects of traditional Aboriginal culture and Country from a Darug perspective.  The cultural presentation provides an opportunity to look more closely at the traditional life of our ancestors here and learn a little more on how people normally lived.

How did this ancient culture (described by Cook as one of the happiest people he had ever encountered) live and organise themselves? How did an entire continent live without armies and prisons; meeting the needs of its people for the past 30-60 thousand years without destroying or eating up all the Country? What can we learn from one of the most successfully sustainable cultures on the planet and its encounter with our modern systems or ways of living?

Join us for a smoking ceremony followed by this interactive session including opportunities for questions and discussion.

Each ticketholder can bring up to 2 children (0-9 years old) for free.
