About Sondheim - A Bungendore Tribute
Considered by many to be the greatest of all musical theatre composers, Stephen Sondheim has won Academy, Tony, Grammy and Olivier awards. His songs are in turn melodic, moving, dramatic and witty. For over 50 years this uniquely talented composer and lyricist enthralled musical theatre audiences with some of the most imaginative and unforgettable shows ever written.
For one night only, a cast of talented Bungendore locals will pay tribute this legend of Broadway. They will perform songs from some of Sondheim’s best-loved as well as his lesser-known shows, including the hugely popular “Send in the Clowns” from “A Little Night Music”, the moving “No One is Alone” from “Into the Woods”, the hilarious “Not Getting Married Today” from “Company”, and the darkly comical “A Little Priest” from “Sweeney Todd”, amongst many other masterpieces of musical theatre.
And, as a very special treat, the incomparable Shortis and Simpson will make a special appearance.
