Weaving Workshop: Learn the traditional basket weaving techniques of Burundi, Africa, and make a simple pair of earrings or a coaster to take home. Participants will learn the skills to continue on weaving projects at home. The instructors are Colodetha and Victoria from Sisterworks, a non-profit social enterprise which supports women who are migrants, asylum seekers or refugees to become financially independent and happily settled in Australia. The evening will include a delicious meal of Injera bread and traditional curries. Come and share a rich cultural experience and learn some traditional weaving skills!
